Dr. Paul Ayris, UCL Library: Open Access University Presses – a future model for scholarly publishing?
This paper will look at the scholarly publishing landscape and suggest that universities can use the Open Access movement to create their own institutional University Presses. The paper will look in detail at the foundation of UCL Press, the UK’s first fully open access University Press, and draw conclusions from its first year of publishing.
