Knowledgebase for Hungarian Traditonal Dances – A Selection of Films (16)
The collection of dances presented here is the moving pirture material of the Dances database (http://db.zti.hu/neptanc_tudastar/tancok.asp), an organic section of the comprehensive Knowledgebase of Hungarian Traditional Dances, which presents the metadata of documents stored in the Traditional Dance Archive in the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Reseach Centre for Humanities, Institute of Musicology. The dances available here introduce an almost complete cross-section on the Hungarian dance tradition, published already or planned to be published in notated forms in several volumens (Martin 1970–1972, Fügedi—Takács 1999, Fügedi—Vavrinecz 2013, Karácsony), and constitute the dance material selected to support the traditional dance teacher training at the Hungarian Dance Academy.
Some dances of the set recorded between 1941-1992 on black and white 16 mm films can be viewd only mute, in some instances establishing the dance–music can not be possible. A small amount of the published material was recoded on color films or video. The films are presented with different picture quality due to the various digitzing technology during the past 10 years.
The copright is owned by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Reseach Centre for Humanities (HAS RCH). Copies of the recordings can required from the HAS RCH for scientific and educational purposes, however their use for any kind of publishing (commercial, broadcast, internet, video distribution) needs the written permission of the HAS RCH.
