Recent attacks on the internet trust infrastructure have highlighted deficiencies in the generation, distribution, and consumption of revocation data from Internet CAs. Much planning and research has gone into a proposal for a phased implementation plan involving multiple revocation data delivery strategies in order sufficiently address these deficiencies. This talk will outline the short term, medium term and long term objectives of the phased implementation plan supported by the CA and Browser Forum, along with the expected outcomes.

The European e-Infrastructures Observatory aims to address the e-Infrastructures community’s need for a tool to support progress monitoring and evaluation of related e-Infrastructures initiatives and programmes. It is currently composed of 7 intuitive, interactive and user-friendly visualization tools that allow for a multidimensional and polymorphic panorama for analysis and dissemination of e-Infrastructures achievements, possessing more than 45 benchmarking indicators as well as more than 10.000 individual data figures.

Simple Cloud Identity Management, SCIM, takes on the challenge of proposing a standard for the back office identity provisioning tasks. The current landscape of how identity data is managed from all the various environments behind the scenes swings wildly from vendor only solutions to hand crafted solutions that are dependant on key people to keep alive and support. This talk will skip across the surface of the the deep topic of identity provisioning with the occasional deep dive on a particular point and offer insight and open the door to curiosity to explore SCIM in more detail and determine for yourself the value of investigating and hopefully adopting SCIM as a tool in your identity management tool set.

Recent attacks on companies enabled for trust by default in browsers and operating systems have led many to question the state of the internet trust infrastructure. There have been a number of proposals generated to either replace or enhance the existing SSL/TLS CA system as a result. This talk will summarize the strengths and weaknesses of the major proposals in comparison to the existing system and introduce a metric developed to facilitate a comparative analysis of these proposals, revealing the results of that analysis in accordance with the developed metric.

Portfolios are used for evaluating competence when employing teachers and researchers. They can also be used in development discussions and job evaluations. A portfolio covers all the areas of work: research, teaching and management. The aim is to record one’s know-how, strengths and perception on development. The portfolio is a document drawn up by the applicant where he/she presents, evaluates and records skills and merits. Also professional expertise is documented in the portfolio, and the whole working experience (research, teaching, management, etc.) is scrutinized. The portfolio consists of one’s work history, principles, production, development ideas for the future, feedback from students and collegues, as well as self assessment. Adding images and text makes it more personal.
